I'd like to also mention that the daily login rewards are coming back! I may or may not make it available before the new site's availability, it depends how long the site takes to develop but for veterans, it'll be like the last time. This time however, people will earn daily rewards plus a special x-mas currency to use to unlock stuff. There will be new unlockables as well and the return of last year's rewards. What do you all think? I'm excited haha :D

Tomorrow I'll be back in action from the long thanksgiving weekend. There's much to do but I'm pretty hyped. I know I've said before that I was aiming for a before-thanksgiving release but things happened code-wise and you know how that goes. Always estimate at least 2-3 times more than what you think you'll do. I didn't but felt determined to try anyway. I don't want to release something that isn't polished so we'll see how this week goes. I refuse to pull a Cyberpunk 2077 or a ARK Survival Evolved or some other super bugged project that was released too early.

It's nice to see the new site so polished though, it's kinda creepy in a way. When things work so well it gives you goosebumps lol. My aim is to make the whole site super polished like that so a bit more time is needed. I hope you will all understand and please feel free to talk as much as you like. This project feels empty and lonely without you guys talking like old times and for all the new members (there are so many) please introduce yourselves! I'd love to learn more about you all :D

Today is thanksgiving in Japan and yes it occurs every 23rd of November. Doesn't matter if it falls on a Thursday or a Tuesday, thanksgiving is on the 23rd, so easy to remember right? :D

So what does Japan have to be thankful for? Hah kidding, of course a lot of amazing things, I'm sure you know but it's not really called Thanksgiving. It's actually called Labor Thanksgiving or Kinro Kansha no Hi 勤労感謝の日. I thought I wrote an editorial about it before but it turns out I might not have. If I do find it, I will publish it when I get the chance but if not, I'll write one for next year for sure. Anyway... Thanksgiving in Japan comes from a rice harvest celebration and eventually turned into a being thankful for the salaries and work you were privilleged of having for the year. After all, without work, you're essentially homeless right? So the concept is kinda the same.

Happy Kinro Kansha no Hi and Thanksgiving to everyone in the US and other parts of the world that celebrates this and a similar type of harvest event!

So help me.

I went to an aquarium store yesterday and I saw the cutest MF freshwater white puffer fish and it had the most amazing smile I've seen on a puffer. It was so joyful to look at me and follow me around. I was so close to buying it and I still am. That little dork still tempts me today and i can't stop thinking about its little cuteness. There was also this one axolotl that I wanted bad but I don't want the responsibility of caring for it since I already have enough animals to tend but the temptation is there.

Then there was this little eel thing that looked like a chinese dragon with the face of an otter. I don't know what it was called but it was absolutely adorable and I wanted to get a few of them but I don't want to put sand in an aquarium. Cleaning sand is a nightmare lol

I ended up just buying a few skunk corys to make the other corys happy but I might give in for the little puffer. I'm resisting as much as I can though... His little cute face can't get out of my mind. I wish I took a picture to show you guys so you'd understand.

Maintenance Part 2 was not completed successfully, snapshot has been restored to prior losing a few posts (just mine).

I tried and tried but couldn't get it to work for some reason. It's a really complicated scenario and I really wish I could have done what I wanted to do to the server. Unfortunately this version of Jappleng does not support what my development build does. So until that version is complete, I won't touch the server updates anymore. I spent 2 days trying to get it to work and yet those days could have been used to work on the site instead.

Sorry for the downtime and inconvenience! However, the new server is significantly faster with NVME SSD, two super fast processors and other hardware that makes the site go brrrrr!

I applied a hotfix to the LIVE site so that it has fixed J-Spot threads. I was getting annoyed that the threads weren't threading properly and so I copied over some of the code to the LIVE version. This might also resolve new posts found, and pagination, maybe. I only copied database related code so it might not be perfect.

Regardless, I hope this fix makes the site more tolerable until I finish Jappleng "2.0". (It's actually like 8.0 or something but 2.0 sounds more fitting)

I plugged in an old drive because i needed to fetch an old backup for reasons and i came across the Pangya installation folder.

I MISS PANGYA

I think about this game once in a while and I really wish it didn't die. I loved that game! i still have Pangya for the wii but it's not the same.

When you order grocery delivery specifically because you don't have breakfast and when it gets here as you wake up, they didn't have the breakfast you ordered. My donuts! ಠ_ಠ
