IMChat Expressions is our own chat software freely available
only on our website. All members have access to this chat for free!
You may use this chat to create channels of your own, be invited to
existing private group chats, or take part of public channels or
club chats. With over a dozen chat related features such as chat
with friends, kaomoji supprt, sticker embedding, watch videos /
listen to radio with friends, rolling dice, oracle, English
Japanese dictionary, and many other features... We're proud to have
a new fun feature called "Chat Themes".
What are Chat themes?
Each channel can have its own chat theme. A chat theme is used
to colorize the channel you are in and even help make it obvious
that you're in a specific chat when you like to chat in multiple
channels at once. These themes may have animated backgrounds or
static backgrounds where the animation may be permanently toggled
on/off in the app's settings.
How to obtain Chat Themes?
These themes may be obtained through a few different
ways.
#1: Unlock them traditionally using J-Coins or other
currencies. J-Coins are obtained for free by taking part of website
activities such as posting on the forums, participating in Clubs,
liking other people's J-Spot posts etc...
#2: Daily Login Reward bonuses and events may give out chat
themes as a reward. Sometimes chat themes are available only during
the event and are limited edition themes. Be sure to participate!
There is a new event every month!
#3: Unlocking them via achievements / completion of certain
tasks. For instance, the Yokai Trainer theme will only be available
through the Yokai Trainer game. These games are available only on
our website. Yokai Trainer being a pet training game similarly to
Tomogachi / Pokemon but different. This game is not yet available
but illustrates that in the future there are plans to release them
as part of these free-to-play games. Achievements are also a part
of this idea where you complete a certain set of tasks to unlock
the themes and other fun prizes.
How to use Chat Themes?
Chat themes may be applied to channels that do not have a
theme selected (by the channel admin) from the chat settings panel.
If you create a channel, you may select the chat theme you have
unlocked. Keep in mind that for now, during this BETA period,
almost all chat themes are made available to everyone to test.
After this period, the themes will remain in the channel.
