Hello everyone! I am working on the following before releasing the site. I'm not sure how many days it will take but I am pretty confident that these changes will make Jappleng more enjoyable for everyone at launch.

Flashcard App [ Nearly Done, about 1 day remaining ]

Mobile Support [ Working on this, about 2-3 days ]

Title, Description, Tags, and other important "SEO" / Share support [ Not Started, approx 2 days ]

Add newly completed lessons to site [ Not started 1 day ]

Various final adjustments [ Not started ]

Create and test Newsletter system [ Not started, approx 1 day ]

Day 1 of 9 ~ 12

Resolved issues with chat not sending / recieving messages on a live basis
Mobile Support added
Tablet Support added
Various tweaks made to better support "other" resolutions
Added Kaomoji system to the Chat
Direct Messages work again
Issues relating to "Invite users to DM" scrolling has been resolved
Issues relating to creating a new DM "Invalid title" has been resolved
Issues relating to scrolling through many topics / categories in chat has been resolved
Various visual tweaks have been made to the chat making it more presentable
Chat supports jBB code such as images, videos, font styling and more.
Various miscelaneous and performance issues have been fixed to the chat.
Flashcard App has been published (Alpha, does not yet support your vocabulary. It's only for test purposes)

Prep work made for chat Settings, Chat Actions, Chat History,Who's Online, Chat Participants, Chat Night Mode, Sound notifications / Device notifications.

Day 2 of 9 ~ 12

New update (January 8, 2020)

Closed Chat Topics display correctly now
Chat history, Chat Actions, Chat Settings buttons are now available but do not contain any functionality (placeholders)
Night Mode has been created and implemented!!

Supports Most sections and features
Saves option as cookie so you can keep using it from page to page

I expected night mode to take a considerable amount of time but it was easier to do once I realized the simplicity of it all.

Day 3 of 9 ~ 12

Removed Kaomoji and Images button from chat and added the icon to the left menu of the chat as a better replacement
Chat input box has been resized to fit correctly on mobile devices, also the font size has been changed
Chat messages extend to the correct length for mobile devices
Kaomoji popup menu has been positioned correctly with a background color for the chat system, additionally if the list of kaomoji is too large for the screen, it is possible to scroll through the selection while still seeing the chat input box
Kaomoji selection is now aligned left instead of right
Chat topic list now stretches to cover the full screen
"Select a channel" message is positioned a bit better
Resolved issue where DM Avatars in the thread selection would not show other people's avatar but your own
Usernames in chat are now "Neon Green" in night mode instead of a dark blue
Clubs are now accessible from the chat (fixed bug that broke it)
Topic titles and descriptions fill up the whole space.
Various other tweaks have been made to fix bugs and improvements

Update 4 of 9 ~ 12

I accidentally closed the update log without saving on Friday, however a lot of updates were posted for the Main Menu, Chat, Header, Footer, Various Bug fixes, Improved mobile support, Improved Tablet to PC support, Dark mode improvements, and more.

Update 5 of 9 ~ 12

Chat

Chat titles are now displayed at the top of each topic when viewing them
Chat participants feature added to Direct Messages
User invitation system has been fully upgraded, displays much better than before and doesn't cause weird bugs
Added actions Menu
Magic 8-Ball feature has been implemented (24 possible results)
Server Time feature has been implemented as action
Roll Dice action has been implemented as action
Who is online command is now functional
User sessions has been added to chat with various instructions for it
Who is online is now supported, channels will show who is online given that the topic isn't closed

I have just a few more adjustments to make to the chat such as fixing the bug "last activity", showing a list of who's online, adding the ability to search dictionary words from the Jappleng dictionary directly from chat and I think that will be it for now. The rest of the updates will be the completion of the vocabulary tracker / flashcard app and other things I mentioned before. Essentially, I have a tiny bit left to do for the chat before moving forward. I hope you will all love these updates smile

January 14 Updates

Part 6 of 9 ~ 12

Jappleng Chat
New Feature: Who is Online?

You can now see who's online in the participating chat channel.
A number of members online in the channel is now available.
Members switching from one channel to another will no longer appear in the previous channel.
Checks every 5 seconds
You can view member's profile from the member list (who's online)
You cannot view who's online from closed topics
Who's online has been applied to: Direct Messages, Club Channels, Lobby Channels

New Feature: Embed Image from J-World

It is now possible to embed images from public J-World Images.
Maturity filter is set for browsing but not posting images (please respect channel rules)
Infinite scrolling through all the J-World images is possible
Searching, tags, my images, upload image (to chat only) is planned in a future release

New Feature: Styling Toolbar

It is now possible to style your chat messages.
It is possible to add your own images via embed image url
It is possible to embed Youtube videos

Improvements:

Performance update has been applied to the Chat system
Participants list has been visually improved

More updates coming tomorrow, likely site-wide mobile support and the completion of the flashcard system.

Clicking on an image will expand it to full-screen, clickig it again will open the original in a new tab
Posting links as text will auto-convert it to a clickable url
Pasting a url from youtube will convert the url into an embedded video
Youtube videos have been resized, same with image thumbnails
URLs in messages now appear with correct color

Resolved positioning issues relating to right-side content ie: "Try J-Spot!"
Quick Navigation Icons have been added, in the future these will be customizable
Quick Navigation Icons also have been added for mobile devices

Quick navigation icons are configured to disappear depending on how small you shrink the browser

I'm still working on the site. Last week I started on Thursday due to personal reasons and I decided to focus my attention on something that I've been wanting to work on since forever ago. This is Jappleng related and something you will all love. Additionally other things will release soon, just give me a few more days to work on these things and you'll see in this grand announcement.
