I have been experimenting with mobile support and have
provided rendering support for PC through all reasonable screen
resolutions for the main menu, left menu (when you click on the
(J)MENU) button when it's shrunk enough, dashboard and J-Spot feed
/ some modules.
I noticed how difficult it is to deal with these days with DPI
being so high compared to before and it has such a big range! What
this means is that a 16px font will appear as 32px font on a device
that is 144dpi. Most phones are higher than that now so if you're
using a phone, everything would look ginormous!
To resolve this I am using some math and this will need some
fine tuning and adjustment to different parts of the site for
compatibility. Unfortunately CSS, the styling code used to make
things look pretty on a website does not natively support just
saying "render everything the same". Nope! It has been petitioned
since before 2011 and still to this day it can't do it. Now it's no
longer, add 4 different resolution support but add 4 different
resolution support AND add DPI support. This has become a bigger
problem than I expected but it needs to be fixed before I move on
to anything else.
I'd like to also take this moment to thank everyone for
reading this, I know this site can be a headache to navigate with
the cross-browser/platform bugs but I am doing what I can to
resolve them all. There are so many new members and many are active
already during this Alpha! Nice!!
See you all next time!
