So you want to get your hands on a free copy of the $600 Limited Edition Oculus Rift CV1 headset do you? Well, you might be one of the 6000+ original kickstarter backers who can get a CV1, for free! That's right, Facebook or dare I say the Oculus Company is giving back to the original believers by giving them all a free copy of the CV1! Of course, according to them this is not part of a diabolical scheme to thwart people away from buying the HTC Vive Pre.
*cough cough*We LOVE the Oculus, I've got a nifty DK2 sitting right next to me waiting to be used again, perhaps to watch a virtual vocaloid concert or slaying dragons in skyrim? Of course, fun and games have to wait until after hours :3How do you get your copy? Simple! Check your E-Mail for any messages sent from Oculus regarding your free copy. Don't have one? Contact them immediately! You have until February 1st to claim your free Limited edition copy of the Oculus Rift CV1.
Pre-orders have been going on for a few weeks now and the headset is set to be backordered until June or July but is releasing in March. The headset itself costs $600USD+shipping. There's no telling how much the Limited Edition will be valued at, but it is likely going to be a lot more than $1000 down the road and you can get yours for free if you're an original backer! That's like someone giving you $1000, so be sure to get your copy even if you don't want it. Heck, you can send it to us and we'll be more than happy to accept your generous gift!Once again, get in touch with Oculus before Feb 1 because once that date passes, there's no guarantee that you'll get your free rift!
