As many of you already know, Japan is a nation of peace ever since the end of World War 2 which is why they have not been building many warships until recently. Tensions increase as China and Tawian become more hostile with Japan, which means that after 68-years of peace, it finds itself forced to improve its defense and offense capabilities in preparation of a possible war.Warship
Izumo was unveiled on Tuesday in Yokohama. The warship is 820ft / 250meters long and is capable of carrying up to 14 helicopters and will be used to secure borders from potentially invading submarines. Its other uses will be to help transport people and resources during a large-scale national disaster. It has been said that it could be used to launch jets if they are launched vertically.While the islands may continue to be disputed for, it's only a matter of time before escalation occurs as no country shows signs of backing down. The vast amount of rare-earth minerals that surround these islands are thought to be worth over $100bn USD.
