It's not every day when you hear a professional athlete come out and say that they've always wanted to be a voice actor or actress for video-games and anime, but there's one Olympian that did, Satomi Suzuki.
Satomi Suzuki,a twenty-one-years-old Olympian may have not won gold (bronze and silver), but she did win gold in the hearts of Otaku's around the world when she had mentioned that she had always wanted to be a voice actress for video-games and anime. Her childhood coach said in an interview "When we talked on the voice back in May, she wasn't all, 'I'm going to win medals!' No, she was saying, 'I'm going to be a voice actress!'".
Satomi Suzuki will be focusing on her voice acting career once she returns to Japan, and she's already made connections. Good luck Satomi Suzuki! You may be the first Olympian with such a goal in mind and we salute you!
