Why I like Play-Asia
I have had to buy imported goods from Japan from time to time because living in the U.S. means that it's difficult to come across good Japanese stuff from going to local stores. In fact, it wasn't until recently that stores wouldn't ever sell Pocky or Ramune.Play-Asia is that place where I like to go to get some of the rare delicacies when it comes to entertainment. It sells books, manga, magazines, audio CD's, DVDs/Bluray of just about any anime or drama that you can think of; action figures like no other store, video-games, and so on and so on...This is the kind of store that sells imported goods with an acceptable markup to keep them going and to allow us the fortunate opportunity to buy whatever we want from japan. You know how the PSP in the US is pretty bland and has very few fun games? Well in Japan they have a lot of games, and many RPGs that will never be ported over. Want a game before anyone else here gets it? You can order it from their site and they will ship it to you when it becomes available and that means 6 maybe even 8 months before there's a translated version of it.But you don't speak or read Japanese, so how does this benefit you? Well, for one -- it helps you learn Japanese if you play imported games, listen to music, and like many people will vouch, owning collectibles from Japan helps with motivation. Remember when you had that one thing from Japan and you got overly excited that you finally had something from Japan? Well, if you haven't had that experience, Play-Asia will probably help you with that joy.The most important thing that I've noticed with Play-Asia is that their shipping fees are reasonable and so are their prices. I know there are competitors and their shipping fees and/or markup is ridiculous. Like why is a used pair of panties, worn by a teenage school girl $300? Yes, that was a joke but the concept is similar; why is X this expensive when it's just THAT? Play-Asia isn't like that but their collectors items are pretty pricey. I saw a few figurines going over $200 and I just felt my heart break as soon as I fell in love. But no worries, most figurines are under $100, usually around $20 or $30.I do believe that PlayAsia is the most popular online Japanese store which may be the reason why they can do what they do. But at any rate, I suggest going to visit their website and take a quick peak. If you buy something, let us know in the comments below how it went for you.Website:http://www.play-asia.com/
