Hunter X Hunter is making a comeback, from being a what was once believed a deserted series into a remake, and continuation of the anime, as well as the movie that recently was in selected theaters. While I was gone to get married, my wife and I got wind about this movie and went to watch it in a movie theater and it was good.
Hunter X Hunter: Phantom Rouge (Movie) is just like any other episode of the show except quite a bit longer. The story itself is not part of the original story from what I've been reading, in fact it's apparently a story that was scrapped at one point which makes sense as watching this movie may make you question how come certain things are happening at that point in time.Moving on to the plot -- To avoid any spoilers, Kurapika gets his eyes stolen by what appears to be an old-time friend of his from his village. He has to find his eyes again and gets the help of Gon, Kullua, and Leorio to get his eyes back as well as finding out the reasons behind all of this. As you can see from the movie poster, there's a spider and the number is 4 on it, but wait, isn't that Hisoka's number? Something is strange here... But to understand everything you should most certainly see this movie. In my mind, the events take place right after Greed Island, before Gon and Killua meets with Kite. Of course this doesn't make too much sense but that's about where this movie takes place. Feel free to discuss or debate this in the comments below in the comments if you wish.
How does this movie fan out?It was a good watch, but I was rather disappointed when I learned that it didn't really happen in the series (maybe this information is incorrect? But many sites claim to be the case). However, I did enjoy the ride and like I said, it's just like watching the anime. If you're not a fan of Hunter X Hunter, I wouldn't really recommend it as something to watch as you'll probably be very confused as were this couple sitting next to us.The story was good and the ending wasn't disappointing. I'd recommend renting this movie or buying it
by clicking here or here for action figures and related things from HxH.I know this wasn't much of a review but I have so much on my plate, however I wanted to bring this movie to light because my wife and I thought it was great. I believe the original release was in January, but we watched in at the end of May, and now July 3rd I'm kind of reviewing it. A little late? A little.
