Being drunk in Japan is nothing new, in fact it's fairly common at night due to its lax laws on public drinking. Believe it or not, it's even legal to walk around with alcohol in your hand, though because of these lax laws, people are given general rules to abide to avoid being arrested. While singing drunk in the street is legal, being violent or destroying property under the influence is even worse than doing so while sober.
Let me introduce you to Sargent "Tetsuo Taguchi" (may be a nickname), a 54-year-old man that thought it would be clever to scratch a few cars with a coin. How was his mischievous behavior brought to light you ask? He was caught on security cameras and brought to Justice. That criminal scum got what he deserved with a side-dish of public humiliation to the task force.
The coin in question was not charged with assisting the crime, however it was taken into police custody for further questioning. The damaged vehicles are currently recovering in ICU at the local body shop and are expected to make a full recovery.
