Queue up "The internet is for porn", a soundtrack from Avenue Q for this news piece as it is most certainly befitting the unusual(?) event of a Japanese teacher accidentally showing his students porn.A teacher in an unnamed school in Yokohama is very passionate about teaching, so passionate that he was incredibly eager to show his students a CD of space related material on what appeared to be a fairly cool but sunny day (10ºC). The teacher unassumingly put on a record of "
Rocket Man" by
Sir Elton John, held the space disc up high exclaiming that "this is the moon", and placed it into his super futuristic laptop for the ultra-cool space lesson. The laptop was then connected to a projector which showed images of the "wonders of the universe" or as some may call naked women
(we presume they were women, it could have been yaoi, actually we imagine it being yaoi*).
The teacher quickly unplugs everything but there was still just enough power to keep the images going for a few more seconds, imprinting only god knows into their fragile little middle school minds. In sheer embarrassment, the teacher apologized and committed hara-seppuku 切腹, an ancient Japanese art of the honorable suicide. Well, that part didn't really happen but simply saying he apologized didn't seem exciting enough.Nobody seems to know what happened directly afterwards but we assume it was a very awkward period for both the teacher and the kids. Later that day when the students went home, many told their parents on what happened. A sincere apology from the teacher was made and a spokesperson said
"It is deeply regrettable that an incident of this nature occurred as we continue to strive for excellency within our classrooms."Who knows whether that teacher will get the shaft for his behavior, but perhaps it was unlikely since it was an accident. He did teach the kids a valuable lesson that when they grow old enough to look at porn, they shouldn't put it on their work computer or at least keep it open when they put the laptop into sleep mode. Perhaps the next lesson will really be about outer space and not uranus?
* If you don't know what Yaoi is, it's pretty gay. Let's keep it at that.
