Lately I've been seeing news about how there's a new fashion trend in Japan where boobs are lifted by using rope or something similar. Apparently it has become so mainstream that everyone who's cool is doing it. The idea behind tying a ribbon under your boobs is that it will lift them and make them appear bigger. This concept was popularized from an anime called "Is it wrong to try and pick up girls in a dungeon?" or in Japanese "ダンジョンに出会いを求めるのは間違っているだろうか" where an anime girl named Hestia Familia wears a scantly outfit tying up her boobs with a ribbon. While I have unfortunately not seen this anime yet
(must preserve urge to watch any anime for now), it seems that western media is reporting that it's a popular trend in Japan to tie up boobs for the boob lift like Hestia Familia does. Sure, the anime is grossly popular to the point that it's hard not to see Hestia on a daily basis
(heck, almost half the post on my FB and twitter feeds are Hestia drawings and cosplay). But is it really the trend in school systems and on the street?Unfortunately this fashion sense is not becoming the new hot thing like cosmopolitan, CNN, and other news sources would claim. In fact, it's usually not possible to make the lift happen as many have tried but as they say, it cuts into their arms, makes it hard to move, and it doesn't lift. Some have proclaimed that it does work, but most posts tend to go on and complain about how it doesn't actually work
(check twitter, you'll see!).There is also no evidence that this is becoming popular in street fashion, so don't expect to see ribbon tied oppai any time soon unless you attend a cosplay convention. Before we wrap up this topic, I think it's time to present some pictures found around Twitter. Click on the images to enlarge.
