Sorry for the inconvenience!
For the past 2-3 days, there has been an attack against our ISP and not Jappleng itself. The attack in question is a Denial of Service attack which is essentially bombarding a server with requests to the point of server failure. The attackers have been identified and the server which we're hosted on has had to be given an emergency transit link to other datacenters across the country to maintain operation. During this time, Jappleng has been up and down (down mostly) and we apologize for this. In return, we will provide everyone with 200JPoints as a bonus. Our ISP has informed us that they are presently monitoring traffic to see if any attack continues, however advanced anti-DDoS protection has been implemented to the datacenters that Jappleng is hosted on to minimize downtime in the future. When we have more funding, we will have multiple servers to try and "guarantee" better uptime in the event of such attacks in the future, but for now we'll have to rely on the new security implementations that our ISP has introduced after these attacks.
Basically this is what it comes down to:- The attacks were against our ISP's datacenters, not Jappleng itself- The attacks were just a bunch of requests done by scripts, not a direct assault- Your data has not been compromised, it's a different type of attack- You will receive 200JPoints as a token of apology
(within 24hrs)- Improvements have been made to prevent downtime in the future- Site may still go down, we don't know but our ISP is on guardAgain, a DOS attack is simply just getting a bunch of people to repetitively ping a server until it crashes and it wasn't directed at us but the main datacenter where we host Jappleng.
Your data is safe!Tomorrow major website updates are rolling out, please look forward to them! Thank you for your continued support!
