Right now, the present Jappleng project is called J-Spot, a social network for anime and Japanese enthusiasts to share their thoughts and befriend each other. This project will be ready for public use sometime next week and already it's
REALLY COOL!.But what happens once J-Spot is ready to be used? What then? Well, there's a zillion features that need to be implemented around Jappleng and so many older features that need to be upgraded such as the news posting system. It would be so much better to be able to dynamically add images from a source, or have a nice image editor wouldn't it?
AchievementsImmediately after J-Spot, I'll have to focus my time in fixing some existing achievements and implementing new ones that needs to be implemented.
Site TutorialImmediately upon logging into Jappleng, you should be presented with your first time login tutorial. This tutorial will teach you the basics of Jappleng and show you where to go for more tutorials. Each tutorial will have its own reward for completing it. The idea behind this is to show people around the website.
Join Jappleng on every page!People need to know that they can join Jappleng, and for this I'm thinking about having something noticeable as you scroll down.
Easier registration! / Social networkIt should be easier to register, in fact why not make it a simple click of the button with only needing a new password? That's all it needs to be, so if anyone has a facebook, google+, or twitter account, perhaps making it simple to join should be one of the next goals.
Queue system and NotificationsThese two systems have been remade many times over the development of Jappleng. It really should have been kept for last because every time there are new sections and features, it ends up needing to be remade. Hopefully, it will be remade for the last time.
PM SystemThere's no PM system but there are placeholders for it. It won't take much time to create a PM system but it will take about a day. It's a necessary site component
J-World Market UpgradeThe J-World market will have a visual upgrade and many bugs will get fixed. A transaction record will be added and a public shop will be made so if you have any item you want to sell for J-Points such as an overstock of something, things you won't use any time soon, or very rare items then you can sell it all there. The Market Upgrade will not have the public shop available before the end of beta, it will be a feature added later in September.
New Articles and Lessons!New articles around the site and lessons will be published before BETA can be taken out of the name. New educational videos and audio clips will be added.
Out of Beta!Jappleng will be out of beta meaning no more BETA status and the site will welcome everyone with open arms, advertisements will be placed, and no more worries about severe bugs! Jappleng University may get rebranded as just Jappleng since after polling a ridiculous amount of people, it seems that too many think that this is a place where you have to pay to do anything and automatically assume it's a university.
Beyond the BetaWe'll see how well Jappleng does after the beta, but immediately I would like to begin work on J-Blogs and Club Jappleng while producing new lessons. I would imagine that J-Blogs will be available in September and Club Jappleng in October at some point. Hopefully many will realize the purpose of Jappleng and take advantage at creating an account and participating around the site. Beyond this, content is more necessary than anything so hopefully others will join the team and help produce loads of content and all of you will try posting Japanese-related news.
There are many features and new sections left to do beyond that point but that's the beauty of Jappleng, it is ever-growing! I'm hoping that by the end of September, at least 1000 members will be ACTIVELY participating on the site, and more than 5000 by the end of October. My membership goals aren't ambitious but I know how difficult it is to have people register and participate on a new website, hence it will be something to continuously improve on.I hope to see you around ^____^ Don't forget about the forums
Once again, this page is from a old section called News in Japan which hasn't been a thing since about 2016. But Jappleng has a lot more to offer such as:
- Entertainment section for Anime lineup, news, reviews and more (over 14,000 anime titles!)
- Education section to learn Japanese and about Japan for free
- Club Jappleng to create and join fan clubs, study groups etc...
- Travel Guides to learn more about Japan, immigration and tourist attractions
- Community forums, dedicated chat system, J-Spot social network
- Japanese practice games and other fun stuff like Yokai Trainers
- Massive Japanese <> English dictionary with over 500,000 words
- Achievements, unlockables and more!
We're really big with over 10-million pages! This is a volunteer / free project so please consider
