Everyone who's little, and everyone who's in their early 30's listen up, Dragon Ball is getting an other new series after 18 years! That's right! It's been 18 years since Dragon Ball GT came to be
(really, it's been that long ago?) and we're about to see a brand new series called
Dragon Ball Super and it begins right after the Buu Saga. Okay, take some time to breathe...Akira Toriyama, the original author of Dragon Ball series, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, and many other titles has written the story of Dragon Ball Super making it a legitimate sequel to Dragon Ball Z, unlike GT which Toriyama only worked on the title and character design and is argued by many including myself as not a true sequel to the series. Voice actress Masako Nozawa, the famous voice behind Goku, Gohan, and Goten is rumored to be playing the part once again as she is actively participating in interviews around mainstream media and the anime community.Toriyama and Nozawa aren't the only ones coming back to the scene; Atsushi Kido and Kimitoshi Chioka from Toei Animation are coming back to help develop Dragon Ball Super. Unfortunately there's little to know about the staff but we'll do our best to report what we find.As for the story, it's unconfirmed whether or not Dragon Ball GT will be ignored or if Dragon Ball Super will find a way to transition between it and Dragon Ball GT, however we can speculate that GT will be ignored during story development because of the lack of Toriyama's involvement. Super will begin after the Buu saga and according to Toriyama, there will be much stronger villains to look forward to. Some have already speculated that the
Super Saiyan God form may be introduced into this new saga, but only time will tell.Dragon Ball Super is set to air THIS July on Saturdays at 9:00am on Fuji TV. Set your calendars, this is going to be great!
