My name is Aina, my father is a American while my mother is Japanese and they met in Japan many decades ago making me half-Japanese. I found Jappleng when I wanted to learn more about the Japanese pagoda because recently I have been very interested learning more about my culture. I have been following the updates every week (almost) because I believe that
Mark has a great vision for Jappleng that will benefit all of us.When I first arrived, Jappleng had a few articles, no lessons, and almost nothing worked... But in a forum post he had explained what he had thought for Jappleng and the future and I was amazed at his vision! Almost every day, he would post in the forums a new update stating all of the things he worked on, I didn't pay much attention to them because I knew he was working hard towards completing the website and I was excited to see WHEN that would happen.Today I saw
this post which gave a little bit more of a history behind Jappleng and how it will be ready by Friday. This post inspired me to speak out and share what I've seen and experienced with Jappleng over the past year and show gratitude for the amazing dedication and hard work that Mark has put into this website. He has stated many times already that he has written every bit of code on Jappleng, and donated more than you or I could imagine just for a vision of helping us learn about and explore Japan from here. I have never seen anyone do anything like this before, or even be so considerate about people. Thanks to Jappleng, I am gradually learning Japanese, I am learning more and more about the Japanese culture, and pretty soon when more people visit, I'll be able to talk with others whom also share the same excitement for Japan as I.Thank you Mark for never giving up and making Jappleng something real! You had a dream and worked really hard to make it! I will always be here!
