The forums are still a great place to post because it is like a book where you can go back at your own pace to follow threads you like or created. Social networks like our very own J-Spot are great to meet new people and to talk to each other in real-time
(although our chat would be better for real-time conversations), the forums do serve its own purpose by providing an outlet for asking the entire Jappleng community questions, or providing help, and even discussing matters. The forums are also more like an encyclopedia in the sense that you can always turn to them and expect conversations to last but on a social network, the conversation comes and goes within hours or days. The forums also involves the ENTIRE community, not just friends of friends and if their friends join in etc... The whole community watches and participates in a forum. Forums are a great place to get your voice heard! If people like your thread, they will like it and your thread may even become featured (it's like a temporary version of having a sticky thread). The forums is also a great place to meet new people, share common interests, and find out what we're doing because we post daily updates in the forums!
Did you know there are almost 40,000 forum posts already? At the top menu, there is an icon that says
click on it and go right to it! Introduce yourself in the student introduction forum (found in the general forum), earn your first post achievement and try responding to a few other posts. It's fun!
So let's recap with some added benefits... Posting in the forums will:- Promote site activity- Entice others to join the site- Give Jappleng more exposure to the rest of the world- Provide an outlet to ask questions / answer / discuss Japanese-related topics- It acts as a gateway to finding members with similar interests as you- Daily Jappleng updates are posted there- Earn J-Points for every new posts- Earn Achievements for performing certain actions in the forums- Flaunt your highly prized badges, titles, and other things that you acquired- Conversations in forums outlast social network conversations (they have their own purpose)- Become prideful when your post gets liked- If it's a topic and your post gets liked so much, your post gets automatically "stickied" to the top of the forum (lots of pride points!)- It's fun to participate in forums!
Once again, this page is from a old section called News in Japan which hasn't been a thing since about 2016. But Jappleng has a lot more to offer such as:
- Entertainment section for Anime lineup, news, reviews and more (over 14,000 anime titles!)
- Education section to learn Japanese and about Japan for free
- Club Jappleng to create and join fan clubs, study groups etc...
- Travel Guides to learn more about Japan, immigration and tourist attractions
- Community forums, dedicated chat system, J-Spot social network
- Japanese practice games and other fun stuff like Yokai Trainers
- Massive Japanese <> English dictionary with over 500,000 words
- Achievements, unlockables and more!
We're really big with over 10-million pages! This is a volunteer / free project so please consider
Registering an account and being part of our awesome community!
