By now, most if not all of you are familiar with the awful event that happened years ago at Fukushima where radiation took control of the area. No one returns except during research expeditions but those people are there on a short stay while wearing protective gear. Anything else are robots. But what about all of the animals that were left there? All the cows, horses, deer, cats, dogs? What happened to all of them?As it turns out, thousands of them died in their cages, stables and homes and even more died out in the wild. There are a lot of animals still living there, but how do you rescue them? Well, no rescue system will ever take place either by government or by an organization, but there's one man brave enough to trek the 12.5 mile exclusion zone. His name is Naoto Matsumura, fearless of the radiation and proud animal protector.
Matsumura ventures deep into what remains of Fukushima in order to feed and give water to animals. They are cats, dogs, deer, ostrich, horses, boars, cows, birds, you name it, he does his best to feed it. But what about his health? Well, no one knows how radiation is affecting him at the moment, he is 55 years old and according to doctors, radiation will affect him in about 30 or 40 years. Matsumura said that he refuses to worry about it, and that he'll likely die of old age before radiation affects him.No one is allowed to enter the exclusion zone, and the Japanese government forbid him from staying in Fukushima but he doesn't care, he's been there for over 4 years and he's awesome for wanting to save as many animals as he can.He relies on donations for support and has been named the
guardian of Fukushima's animals. If you would like to help his cause, he has a blog in the related source below. What do you guys / gals think? Is he awesome or what? Please use Google Translate or your favorite translator to help you navigate through his website. According to his blog, the donation information is:Non-profit names:
