I don't think there are many of us whom are interested in Japanese
culture and did not come across a Bonsai tree. It's likely even
more popular than the Cherry Blossom tree, at least to us
outsiders. There are various types of Bonsai trees, such as Juniper
and Maple. In fact, there's a type of bonsai tree that isn't well
taken care of or is nothing more than a branch or twig from a
bonsai tree, they are usually found in Malls, and are dubbed
"Malsai" trees. These types of bonsai "tree" will usually die
within days or weeks after purchase.

Although I can't identify the difference between a legitimate
bonsai tree and a Malsai, they are all very pretty to me. According
to Wiki, a wild bonsai tree may grow up to 5 meters tall. I hope we
can use this thread to learn more about the Bonsai!
