I know Japanese people have different customs than us and we seem
arrogant and rude to them, but what can we do to not insult them
whenever we do or say something?[br]

Maybe always ask permission by saying "sumimasen" when you're about
to ask them a question? I was told that was the proper way to get
someone's attention it's like saying "excuse me sir/ma'am".

dont be loud and annoying. its bad enough that americans usually
talk loudly but they tend to be very conceited. tone it down and be
more modest than you think you should be.

Maybe not say "Jap"?

Itadakimasu nailed it. I don't really talk to japanee people
because there aren't many here but americans tend to be conceited
in the way they talk. Don't be a big shot and people will probably
like you[br]
