This is a great time to get to meet new people, make new
friends, and share your interests in the Japanese lifestyle and
culture!
A little about
Jappleng:
Jappleng is a project built of a dream, a hobby if you will.
The idea is that people have a great place to come to learn about
Japan and find others whom share similar interests. This
one-of-a-kind project started as a blog in late 2005 and was
recently revived into this one-of-a-kind project!
Are there fees / paywalls to
Jappleng?
No. There aren't even advertisements either! Enjoy it! But if
the costs get astronaumical, I'll open up optional dontions similar
to wikipedia.
What was that thing that popped up
after logging in?
That was the daily reward bonus! Every day you can come back
and claim a freebie! Sometimes they are J-coins, sometimes they are
rare prizes, who knows! If you want to learn more, ask
away!
What can people do on
Jappleng?
- We have a Friend Finder that has a lot of parameters to find
other people such as what kind of anime they watch, what Japanese
level they are etc... All of these are optional to fill out but
great if you want to meet new people!
- We have these forums which are the classic way to
communicate!
- We have our own social network called Jappleng Spot or J-Spot
for short. It's like facebook but better because we don't do weird
things with your data.
- Fan Clubs & Study groups are a great way to meet new people and
stay motivated. Create calendar events, polls, forums, wiki, albums
and more! There's so much planned on expanding this area if
Jappleng becomes active.
- Learn Japanese is exactly what it is, a place where you can
learn Japanese and about the Japanese culture. There are different
courses to take part of
- There are a lot of other sections and features to
discover!
Jappleng also supports Dark Mode and Dyslexic font
support! This is found by clicking on your avatar at the top of
the screen. Mobile support is sorta functional for the most part.
However if Jappleng becomes active, I'll continue work on a
dedicated mobile app for Android / iOS.

How would one get started with this?
You'll need to access the
Jappleng Chat. The link can
be found at the top of the page in the main menu. If for some
reason the chat does not work for you, you can come to our discord

Where are the
freebies?
Of course! No party would be complete without them! These will
be given away during the main event starting roughly at 3PM EST
(Saturday)
How do I meet new
people?
Post an introductory thread in the forums, join clubs, join the
chat, say something on J-Spot Social, find people and click "add
friend", use the friend finder / pen-pal system, etc... So many
ways! :D
When is the new website design
releasing like the previews?
I don't know myself, probably in a few days I'll begin rolling
it out. It's so much better and I've fixed a lot of the bugs
too.

I hope you'll enjoy it here. It's been quite difficult to
develop this website but in the end it seems to be helping quite a
bit of people. Everyone's been invited to come back, even those
from many years ago. A promise made, a promise kept! Good luck and
