A lot of updates were made but not uploaded yet, to that end I
don't want to leave you guys hanging. Unfortunately like I
mentioned before in my J-Spot posts, many things had to be
completely re-done and this means it trickles down to other parts
of the website. If I uploaded it now, it would cause a 500 error to
random sections of the site because it doesn't have the new
compatibility update. I don't know what I was thinking when I did
what I did at the time but I'm glad to have fixed it lol
Next week the entire education section will be complete which
will include the following:
- Completed new Education home page
- Many new functional modules
- Progress pages
- New class browsing feature
- Re-written classroom downloads system (for uploads)
- New course home page
- New lessons page (completely redone)
- New Assignments page (again, completely redone)
- Vocabulary system will be completely recreated, full management
system included
- Flashcard system will also be completely recreated
- JPLearn! will be known as JPLearn! Legacy (it is being phased
out for a better edition)
- New lesson editor
- New Chapter editor
- Removal of course clubs. Courses will have its own club-like
features now that the club system is complete.
- Progress timer (track how long you are studying with the
progress timer)
What will not be included in the update:
- Course Manager for Teachers
- Student lists
- Teacher Information / Reviews
- Lesson Comments System
- Dynamic learning elements such as quizzes
- Tutor / Teacher Exclusive Chat Rooms for courses
- Invite-only courses (by code generation) ie: If your teacher
wants to monitor your progress using JPLearn! as a course, they
will be able to create a clone of the course while having the
ability to interact with you and know your grades. In the future,
they will be able to create their own public or private courses.
Courses may be open to public at any time, though features such as
the forums and comments can be closed after a term.
- Course Terms: Courses will be allowed to have terms with start
and end dates.
- Calendar system with deadlines
- Student upload / management system
- Teacher upload / management system
- Teacher overseer system (oversees everything about the students
for tutoring and actual classes)
What might be included in the update if there's enough
time:
- New lesson(s)
I hope this is exciting to hear, there's just a bit more work to
be done! The final stretch is here!
