Is this gonna be like pokemon or somthin? Looks like it can be aight. i'd play it
Yes and no. lol
Your Yokai is your pet. You can collect more than one so in a sense it's kinda like Pokemon but you can't catch Yokai. You have to raise them from their “egg” basically.
Each Yokai has their own hunger, happiness level (mood) etc…. They also have a ton of stats such as Health Points, Magic Points, Physical Attack, Magic Attack, Agility, Defense, Luck etc…
You can “Pet” your yokai to make them happy. You can feed them to make them happy. You can go out on adventures and win to make them happy. If you lose, they become unhappy lol… There's a reason for their mood too.
Your Yokai also has a rank. Let's say it's [ E ] Rank. Well, you can evolve them up to D rank, then C rank then B rank then A rank. Obviously it's easier to just level a B rank to A rank then to start from E rank but it doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't. There are perks from doing this after all!
You must name each of your Yokai, this is essential because names have power and to give power to your Yokai you must give them a name. Their little Yokai personality really adores humans who name them so it's a win-win right?
Well, that's the Yokai side of things. Did I mention that each Yokai has their own attribute, spells/skills and you can put them in an academy to learn more stuff, throw them in a training gym to get stronger etc? What about how you can send them off on advntures on their own and have them bring you free things? Or how you can go on an adventure with them and fight off enemies? There's a lot of stuff planned, even the sanctuary which is based off of my other Yokai game design from several years ago. Basically the village you live in got destroyed by demons and now you have to rebuild it. It's a place of salvation against the demon lord and your Yokai are used to fight them off. Each building you build / upgrade has its own purpose. It'll be loads of fun!
I already completed a lot of it already so maybe in a few months it'll be released, I'm hoping for around November for a good test build. :)
