Everything you need to know about the Josei Genre
Written by Sheeva H. & Edited by Tony Pham & Julia B.
2010-03-25

Introduction:
Josei manga, also referred to as redisu (ladies’) or redikomi (lady comic), are manga written to appeal to older women, often those who are housewives or office ladies (sometimes seen abbreviated as OL). This is the more ‘mature’ version of shōjo manga, girls’ manga primarily written for girls aged seven to eighteen. Josei manga is meant to appeal to an older age range, from ages eighteen to thirty, like its male-targeted counterpart, seinen manga.

Hi!
I enjoyed your article but your research into Australia is inaccurate. Oztaku and Xuan xuan have been long dead and the current magazine is Kiseki Magazine. o_o

Thank you Mangafan111 for the insightful information, we will look into revising this article as it was originally written in 2006 for our older website "Jappleng Blog" and was recently published for our new website. Adjustments should not take too long to research and implement. Thank you!
