Ranma (Girl) Saotome (早乙女 乱馬)
When doused with water, Ranma turns into a girl and to turn back she must be exposed to hot water. Because Ranma is naturally a boy, his personalities do not convert and is basically a boy in a woman’s body. While this form Ranma attracts love interest from male characters creating a reverse-harem.

Akane Tendo is the daughter of Soun Tendo and is arranged to marry Ranma Saotome. While she may not transform into a different form, she’s short tempered and exhibits anger towards Ranma frequently during misunderstandings. She is a strong Martial Artist and fights students from various clubs every morning to get to class.

Genma Saotome (早乙女 玄馬 )
Genma Saotome is Ranma’s father and martial arts teacher. He has long trained with Soun Tendo under the guidance of Happosai. Genma turns into a Panda when he is exposed to water and while he may no longer communicate vocally he utilizes wooden signs to communicate.

Genma (Panda) Saotome (早乙女 玄馬)
As a Panda, Genma is capable of eating bamboo shoots and leafs, and is often seen sleeping in that form. He cannot communicate vocally but uses a cartoon-like ability to pull wooden signs from his back that states his thoughts in writing. In panda form, Saotome works for Mr. Tofu at his clinic.
