(This article is not recent, please look in our archives for a modern story relating to this)

Today, we’ll be discussing our upcoming game for the Xbox 360 and the Facebook Platform in more detail.

Pinchy is a fictitious character and mascot used by Jappleng University and its exclusive content. Pinchy is basically a bio-engineered coconut crab. He’s cute, he’s red, and he’s got an attitude. In his first adventure, he, his friends and his enemies are included in an all-out brawl in a unique puzzle game called Pinchy Attack.

This article is not recent. The Pinchy Attack FAQ may contain outdated information, including old concepts.

Continued...
Pinchy Attack is a puzzle game that has a playfield much like Tetris®, but only isn’t. While we cannot go into specifics into the gameplay just yet, we are happy to say that those who are fans of the original game “Tetris Attack” for the Super Nintendo will be pleased that a game such as this exists.

Is the Gameplay like Tetris® Attack?
In some ways it can be, but for the most part it isn’t. It’s more closely related to manipulating liquid elements and forming them into odd-shape solids than anything else.

Will the title change?
While we haven’t decided yet on a final title for the game, we are content with the title “Pinchy Attack: Championship Battles”

What kind of features can you reveal?
Users will be able to unlock characters, stages, features, power-ups, and more using the YinYen system. Certain features will require Tokens which can be purchased for $1USD each.

Single Player mode should challenge the user for many hours between various modes including Arcade, Story Mode, and Challenge.

What is Challenge Mode?
Challenge Mode is where users can learn how to better their strategies and challenge their mind. There are 3 different types of challenges each containing dozens of challenges.

Will there be more Challenges, Levels, Characters, etc in the future?
Yes, in the beginning there will be a lot to unlock without the use of Tokens, however in the future expect to see add-ons to be purchasable using Tokens and YinYen.

Pinchy Attack: Single Player Menu

Will there be a multiplayer feature?
Absolutely! While single player mode may challenge users for many hours, our Multiplayer system is what will genuinely make this game a great experience. Users will be able to customize games, place YinYen wagers, Team Battles, and more! Expect to play against up to 5 other players (6 players total) in a session.

How much will this game cost?
The Facebook app will be free of charge, while tokens will cost $1 each. Please note that Tokens will not enhance the gameplay experience, but only add onto it. Each token supports the server that hosts the game, and additional proceeds will go towards Jappleng University.

We have no set-price for the Xbox360 title; however expect to see it available in the Xbox Arcade section. If you are using Xbox Live, Microsoft Points will be used instead for DLC.

Will there be Achievements?
Yes, there will be Achievements for both Xbox 360 and Facebook platforms. Achievements will be progressive and will have new challenges every quarter.

How do profiles work?
Users will need to have either an Xbox Live Gold Account or a Facebook Apps account to play this game online and to unlock Achievements. Users may sync their account with Jappleng for global Yin-Yen and Token usage. Users will not be able to use Tokens as a replacement for Microsoft Points.

When will we learn more about this game?
More information will be provided as the game progresses.

When will this game release?
We have no exact date set to release this game and want to release it when we know the game will function fluidly so to speak. We do not have an expected release date for Pinchy Attack at this time.

Can I be part of the beta?
Those who are of VIP status may take part of the beta when ready, however we will only give out beta invites through giveaways and other selective means. Please do not ask to be part of the beta, we will contact you.

Anything else?
You may visit Pinchy.com for the promotional home page. When we reveal the gameplay mechanics, we’ll also release the website. Don’t forget to attend the “Jappleng Back Together Bash” on Saturday, May 22nd to enter and win one of many cool prizes such as YinYen, Tokens, and Beta Invites!
